Today I'm going to talk with you about how to remove the MS Live search bar. Now don't confuse the MS Live search bar with the live search bar. The live search bar is that little search area in your computer. I don't have it on mine. Mine has been disabled but it's a little search area that pops up over here, this address bar slides over and that's for doing searches on your computer, that's not the same thing as the MS Live search bar. The MS Live search bar is a search bar that gets added to your Internet Explorer browser or possibly others that uses you know, Microsoft Live as the search engine and you know, hooks you up with their mail and things like that. Now to remove that, that's a simple matter of going into your control panel, programs, uninstall program and then you just search through the list until you find it and remove it. I don't have it so I don't have it to remove. Now if you do want to get rid of that search bar that I was talking about earlier, the one that actually searches your hard drive, it's pretty easy too and it does require a reboot to do it. So what you do is you go to control panel, then you go to programs. Then once you get in programs, go to programs and features and then what you want to do is go down to Windows features, where are you, programs and features. That is not what I wanted. Ah, here we go, Windows features and here it will present a list of all the Windows features that are in there and what you can do is you can search down until you get to the Windows Search, mine is dechecked, I'm going to check it now because I want to turn it back on, I kind of like that feature. You say okay and it goes through and does all the changes necessary to enable or re-enable. It, you know in that case if you unchecked it and said okay it would go through and disable it. But it's that simple and again if you have an MS Live search bar that you want to get rid of you can go and get that removed from just the programs, you know, add/remove programs like I showed earlier.
