E-Cigarettes And Customer Complaints

E-Cigarettes are a great new way of smoking without incurring the wrath of the public or many of the side-effects associated with tobacco smoke. E-cigarettes deliver a fast nicotine fix at a low price and they are exceedingly easy to use, especially the more recent models. There have however been some concerns about the reliability of electronic cigarettes and some other unrelated complaints. While some of them do hold up for older models to some extent, more recent models can safely and quickly address all concerns regarding e-cigarettes and their reliability.
1. Cartomizers Don’t Last Long
In general a cartomizer will last about as long as a pack of cigarettes. Of course this will vary according to how much you smoke and how many puffs you take. In general a cartridge will last you about 400 medium to long puffs, which adds up to roughly half a pack to a pack of cigarettes, depending on your smoking style. If you use a ‘manual’ battery your lasting time will vary considerably, according to how many long puffs you take.
2. Batteries Wear Out Fast
This is a myth left over from the days of older e-cigs that used atomizers and nicotine liquid bits separately. The atomizer usually burned out (much like any other filament based device, like a light bulb). This usually took about a month or so and they had to be replaced afterwards. Now, liquid and atomizer are integrated into a disposable cartridge or ‘cartomizer’ and these usually empty and are replaced way before they burn out. Batteries last around 250-300 cycles which, considering they only have to be recharged every 2-5 days, will last you quite a bit.
3. Cartomizers Leak
This is one of the most voiced complaints amongst e-cig users. Some cartomizers are just poorly made in general or a shoddy one sneaks through quality control and ends up in some unlucky customer’s mouth. There is little that you can do about this save writing a strongly worded letter and switching to a better brand. High-end cartomizers rarely, if ever, leak and some e-cig brands offer money back guarantees.
4. E-cigarettes Taste Different/Bad
While it is true that e-cigarettes do not taste just like burning tobacco, that would be difficult considering that e-cigarettes do not burn and emit nothing but water vapor and flavor. You can get some flavors that are quite close to the actual taste though. But the main concern about ‘foul taste’ derives from older models in which the re-usable atomizer was coated in a special anti-oxidation solution that tasted horrible. After 50 to 100 uses this foul taste disappeared completely but many people returned their product by then, complaining quite rudely.
The e-cigarette is not a perfect device so concerns often crop up. Electronic cigarette tree has a must-read page dedicated to complaining about the little problems we all find with our e-smoking devices. While you should definitely check it out, remember that these concerns are minor compared with the problems generated by tobacco!
